Introduction

Dune Part Two is an American science fiction film of 2024. This film is the sequence of Dune’s (2021) successful film at the box office of 2021. Denis Villeneuve directed and co-produced the movie and he also co-wrote the screenplay along with Jon Spaihts.


The movie contains the following stars as the cast including Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Stellen Skarsgard, and many more amazing actors of Hollywood. Greig Fraser plays the role of cinematographer in the movie. Joe Walker edited the film. While Hans Zimmer organized the music for the film.

Legendary Pictures is the production company for the production of Dune Two. The film contains 165 minutes of running time. It uses a production budget of $190 million while it makes $669.4 million as its box office collection.

Plot and Summary

The following story tells about the old rivalry between two royal families, ending in the destruction of House Atreides by the rival royal family of the House of Harkonnen. After surviving the fatal attack of the enemies Paul Atreides, along with his pregnant mother manages to escape from the terrain and begin moving towards Arrakis. While reaching Arrakis they both come to know about the post prediction about their arrival on the land of Arrakis and making it prosper as it was never before.

Stilgar, after observing the worsening situation of the pregnant mother suggests Jessica replace her by drinking the water of life. The moment Jessica drinks the water, she begins to have thoughts from every female of her lineage and even the unborn baby inside the womb. Chani, a friend of Jessica falls in love with Paul both enjoying a new life. At the end of the story, both rivals plan to face each other because of Paul’s gaining new power in another region. These new and final skirmishes between the royal blood eventually result in the victory of Paul when Shaddam agrees to surrender and kisses Paul’s ring as a symbol of acceptance of his reign.

Casting

As in many film industries, it’s almost a proverb that there’s no cast or worth of the movie without its cast because it makes a movie superhit or unsuccessful at that time. Legendary actors including Princess Irulan, Feyd Rautha, Buttler, Villeneuve, and many more actors became part of the movie to charm its unique story with marvelous acting skills.

Buttler seems to be so excited about his role in the film that he especially gives credit to Gary Old Man and Heath Ledger for giving him many motivational reasons for being the best performer in the movie. Christopher Walken also joined the cast in the role of Shaddam, a villain in the story.

Releasing and Box office collection

The film was supposed to be released on October 20, 2023. But was later delayed due to many other reasons till November 17, 2023. The film got delayed several times due to multiple reasons as the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes that disrupted the production of many movies.

After solving the issue of these strikes, finally, the movie was released on March 1, 2024. This film became the second film to be released in the IMAX 15 perforation after the success of Oppenheimer. A famous film also released in the same format. Overall, it consumes a production budget of $190 million while it makes $669.4 million in return for the box office collection.

Ending of the Dune: Part Two Film

The ending hits differently because of the change in the dynamics of the story. It’s observable through the beginning of the story how the two giant families face each other over the battle for the throne, ultimately making the victory of the house of Harkonnen over the house of Atreides. A fierce battle decides the victory for the victors and Paul, the young prince successfully manages to escape from the spot with his pregnant mother.

They both then take refuge in a city where arrival had already been predicted before even they landed on the place, famously known as Arrakis. In Arrakis, Paul meets Jessica, Mohiam, Lisan al Gaib, Sardaukar, and many other characters. After gaining a powerful military militia, he launches his attack, eventually bringing victory to him. Shaddam, an arch-enemy agrees to surrender to save his life along with the surety of complete protection of his family.
