Laapataa Ladies is a story of two different families and their situations. The film revolves around women’s rights and the persecution of women by Indian society. It tells the story of forceful marriages without the consent of the girls. Furthermore, the film explains women as a tool for males to use in different circumstances and situations without caring about their lives and careers, choices, and dislikes.

The Laapataa Ladies film tells the story of Phool and Jaya, two brides who get exchanged on a train with two different men. Phool, who is married to Deepak, hides herself in a station eventually, making her fake husband stop finding her with no longer any hope of finding her. On the other side, Jaya provides a fake account of her personal information that makes police suspicious of her character.

Later, she sells her jewelry and buys a ticket that enables the police to consider her a thief. Later, it was proved that her marriage wasn’t approved with her full consent. She wanted to pursue a career in organic farming but couldn’t do it under her family’s pressure. Finally, she is allowed to pursue her dreams and Deepak also finds her wife’s school at the station.

These characters are played by Nitanshi Goel and Pratibha Ranta, both playing the character roles of Phool Kumari and Jaya. Phool and Jaya both engage in a marriage without fulfilling their dreams Phool always has the desire to be independent she wants to fulfill it when she accidentally loses her husband and joins a tea maker at the station and starts working for her. On the other hand, Jaya’s dream of pursuing her education at the university level became true with the help of police officers and Deepak.

Pradeep, Jaya’s husband, returns to claim her as his wife but SI Shyam, a police inspector, stops him by threatening to file a case against him. The story ends in a happy ending when both the girls are successful in achieving whatever their dreams were.
