The story starts when Bea, a Boston University Law student, meets Ben randomly, and both begin to like each other. They spend the whole night talking together until they sleep there.

In the morning, Bea wakes up and leaves Ben alone, which infuriates him later when he wakes up. The incident enables them not to talk to each other for six months until the new incident makes them live together again. Bea now breaks up with her fiancé Jonathan and quits her law school.
