Introduction

Merry Christmas is an Indian film of 2024. The Merry Christmas film contains multiple themes, themes of love, romance, mystery, and suspense. Sriram Raghavan directs the film as Arijit Biswas, Tamojit Das, and Pooja Ladha Surti help write the scripture of the movie. A band of producers produce the film including Ramesh Taurani, Jaya Taurani, and Sanjay Routray. The film stars Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupati as the major cast of the movie. The Merry Christmas movie used a budget of 60 crores for production and earned 26.02 crore in its box office collection.

Plot and Summary

Merry Christmas is a film wrapped in multiple threads of love, romance, mystery, and suspense. The story follows as Albert Arogyasami, the movie’s main character, returns from 7 years of imprisonment and is involved in a new story. He meets a woman named Maria and instantly falls in love with her. He first sees her in a coffee shop later, he meets her in the cinema along with her daughter. They both become good friends and she takes him to her apartment.

There, she finds her husband, Jerome, lying dead on the sofa he gets confused because he’s not willing to go back to prison again after seven years of hard imprisonment. A new character, Ronnie also involved in the story as he begins courting Maria. Finally, after many unfolding of the story’s hidden layers, Albert comes to know about Maria’s role in the death. But he surrenders himself to protect Maria from her crime. Finally, she accepts his proposal of marriage when he is in jail for the murder he never did.

Casting

The cast plays an important role in the success of any movie. Some famous Bollywood and Telugu stars are involved in the film’s production, which plays a crucial role in the film’s success. Vijay Sethupati plays the role of Albert, a young charming man who killed her girlfriend seven years ago and now begins loving Maria.

Katrina Kaif shows Maria, a beautiful girl who kills her husband and now makes love with Albert at the movie’s end. Luke Kenny plays the role of Maria’s husband Jerome, who is killed by Maria in the movie as revenge for being abusive against her. Many minor stars including Radhika Apte play the role of Rosie and Gayathrie acts as a singer in the film.

Releasing and Box Office Collection

The filming and principal photography started on 25 December 2021. Mumbai became the prominent spot for the film shooting. Which later was changed due to the rise in the COVID-19 pandemic. In February Filmistan Studio in Mumbai, the cast gathered again for the renewal of the shooting process. Both major actors Sanjay and Katrina met again for the shooting process at Chitrakoot studio.

The film stopped and proceeded many times during the whole process of filming. Finally, releasing the cast pictures enabled the audience to believe in its release quickly. Finally, the film was released on 12 January 2024. it consumes a budget of 60 crores and earns 26.02 crores.

Ending of Merry Christmas Film

The ending of the film is too interesting and surprising when the story takes a new turn against the audience’s expectations. In the earliest part of the story, it’s visible that somehow Ronnie Albert or Maria is involved in Jerome’s murder. But the mystery is resolved when Maria herself confesses to the murder of her husband.

She accuses her husband of abusing and beating her when he is drunk Albert also comes to know about the replica of different flats that she uses for the murder execution. But the story takes a crucial turn when police start investigating the murder and finally begin suspecting Maria for the murder. Now clearly observing the aria’s situation of getting charged for the crime, Albert himself takes the responsibility of murder on his shoulders. In the end, both agree to marry together and live in the ail together until the case proceeds.
